Moving to the open source version control tool Git does not necessarily mean losing your version history, unlike all existing migration tools Migrate2Git works effectively while retaining the historic relationship between branches, labels and versions.

Migrate2Git is the most cost effective solution available:

• No restriction on the number of times it is run
• No restriction on the number of ClearCase repositories migrated

• Platform independent: ClearCase vobs on Unix can go to either a Git Unix or Windows Git repository, same applies for ClearCase vobs on Windows.

The architecture of IBM Rational ClearCase and Open Source Git are very different, consequently migrating your full ClearCase history to Git is challenging.
