Atlassian Release Crowd Version 1.3

This month sees Atlassian release a new version of Crowd. Crowd is a web-based single sign-on (SSO) tool that is designed for simplifying identity management.

The new features included in Crowd 1.3 are:
• Innovative LDAP group administration
• Cross-directory user imports
• Streamlined management interface

Atlassian tools have a reputation for being simple to use and Crowd appears to be no exception. First impressions show that the new release of Crowd will significantly simplify using LDAP and reduce time and cost of maintaining customer accounts.

"LDAP shows central administrators the nitty gritty of a database-- often the information isn't easy to understand. That's where Crowd comes in. Crowd is a great way to see what's in the central directory and makes changes at a local level while maintaining the integrity of the LDAP directory," notes Dave O'Flynn, Crowd Team Lead.
