| Atlassian Release JIRA version 4.3.1 |
Atlassian Release JIRA version 4.3.1Atlassian recently announced version 4.3.1 of Jira, which addresses a number of fixes and updates to the recent 4.3 release. If you have been putting off the move to 4.3, this release addresses some of its initial shortcomings, and should signal the all clear to upgrade. Jira 4.3 introduced lots of compelling new features for Admins and users alike:
So why wouldn't you upgrade straight away to 4.3?Well, on Atlassian’s own advice you would have put off the upgrade if you use LDAP and internal Jira local users. The upgrade process did not handle this configuration correctly and would effectively lock out your Local users. This was because all users would be incorrectly mapped into a single new LDAP directory and the Local users ‘Internal’ directory would not get populated. Net effect local users, who do not have a real LDAP account, could not be authenticated. This can cause knock-on effects if you use Crowd or if Confluence uses Jira to manage users. The good news is the 4.3.1 release fixes this issue and several others making the features of 4.3 available to all.
