CB2GIT will provide bi-directional integration between Intland CodeBeamer and Open Source Git, building on the existing Git integration for CodeBeamer and extending it by enforcing process and minimising opportunities for human error.

Based on the success of CB2SVN (the CodeBeamer Subversion Integration), Clearvision are planning to extend their in-depth integration for the Award winning Codebeamer Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution to one of the fastest growing version control tools in the market, the open source Git product.

It is envisaged that the CodeBeamer Git Integration will follow in the footsteps of other Clearvision integrations such as JIRA2SVN, CB2SVN, CQ2SVN and CC2SVN by enabling users to record modified Git files against a list of available CodeBeamer tracker items on commit. CB2SVN removes the need to remember issue numbers and ensures only valid issues can be selected (no more mis-typed change numbers).

The integration between CodeBeamer and GIT will be bidirectional, allowing users to also record CodeBeamer tracker-item information against the Git Log.

CB2GIT extends the existing GIT integration in several key areas and provides full traceability for organisations.

As an example: There is one instance of Git and one CodeBeamer instance. User 'David' commits to Git as usual. CB2GIT displays all tracker items currently assigned to David based on the fully configurable filters. David selects a CodeBeamer tracker item and completes the commit process

Another example shows a common configuration of multiple Git repositories associated with different CodeBeamer instances. Projects C and D share a CodeBeamer instance. Upon commit, issues associated with a particular project are displayed based on configured filters.
