Audit: Software Intellectual Property Breach (3PIP/FOSS)

£2,500.00

Companies producing software or obtaining software assets through merger/acquisition may not be aware that if their commercial software products contain Free Open Source Software (FOSS) or third party intellectual property (3PIP) without the correct legal authorisation they are in breach of copyright and open to significant legal action.

This package will identify whether your organisation has an issue and detail recommendations for correcting the problem and preventing it in the longer term.

3 day on-site consulting, including written report:
  • Scan your code base to create a two page report highlighting the severity of the problem and your current exposure (the scoping exercise is limited to 1GB of code). The purpose of the scan is not to analyse every piece of code but rather to scan a representative sample to determine whether there is a significant issue.
  • Interview a selection of key developers anonymously using a pre-prepared script of questions to determine their views and attitudes to using Third Party and Free Software along with their awareness of potential issues and exposure.
  • Scoping report to include analysis of findings, suggestions on how you can mitigate existing 3PIP/FOSS issues and how to ensure your code remains compliant going forward (including pricing and timescales).
