5 Things Not to Miss at Atlassian Summit Barcelona

The upcoming Atlassian Summit in Barcelona is the first ever to take place in Europe! Read on for our guide to getting the most out of Summit.

With 100+ sessions taking place at the first ever Atlassian Summit in Europe, where do you start? As long-time attendees and sponsors of Summit, in this post we’re sharing what we’re most looking forward to at the upcoming Atlassian Summit in Barcelona.

1. Advice and insight from the experts

We may be biased, but our first piece of advice is to make sure you speak to Clearvision while you’re there! It will be your opportunity to get any questions you have about  the Atlassian tools, and your setup and requirements, answered by a Platinum Solution Partner.

On top of that, by stopping at Clearvision’s stand, you’ll be in with a chance to win a safari holiday! Find the Clearvision team at Stand G-17 and Stand B-7.

2. News and announcements from Atlassian

The Atlassian Summit is the place to hear all the latest from Atlassian, direct from the Atlassian teams themselves. From brand new product announcements to exclusive insights into how Atlassian’s own development teams work, make sure you plan your time at the Summit so you can be sure to fit in the keynote talks.

For a taste of the kind of news and announcements you can expect, check out our roundup of the major announcements that came out of last year’s Summit.

3. ShipIt Live

ShipIt is a 24-hour period of innovation that takes place every quarter at Atlassian. The Atlassian Summit Barcelona is your chance to get directly involved! You’ll be able to submit your vote for the hackathon showcase winner.

With last year’s ShipIt Live winners including add-ons for HipChat, Confluence, and JIRA Software, what will this year bring? You can help decide.

4. Diversity in tech discussions

Promoting diversity in tech continues to be a challenging area. Atlassian recently released its 2017 State of Diversity Report, in which it surveyed more than 1,400 tech workers across the United States to provide the first ever look at how tech employees perceive diversity progress within their industry, and in light of the current socio-political climate.

The report makes fascinating reading, particularly the revelation that despite diversity efforts, there appears to be a gap between perception and reality – efforts are being made, but they’re not having the real-world impact people expect.

So what can companies do to improve? This is something Atlassian will be discussing in its Diversity in Tech session, a great opportunity to network with professionals who are committed to improving diversity in the tech industry.

5. Atlassian Bash

It’s not the Atlassian Summit without the Atlassian Bash!

On Wednesday 3rd May, the Atlassian Bash will kick off at 8PM. It’s the perfect chance to let your hair down at Atlassian’s self-proclaimed “biggest party of the year” – an unforgettable night of delicious food, bottomless drinks, music, and entertainment. Don’t miss out!
