Make next month your most productive month EVER

A new month is a chance to start fresh. Here are five ways to make next month your most productive yet using Atlassian tools and more!

Productive

Many people think of a new year as a new start, but technically, each day is a chance for a do-over. Whilst we can make changes daily, results won’t really be noticeable until at least a month has passed.

What does it mean to be productive?

Being productive is pretty much the opposite of procrastination. It means getting on with relevant tasks and not putting them off. Productivity is often associated with producing plentiful work that is of high quality. And what’s one way of being productive? Being agile.

You may have heard this term before, so we won’t bore you with a long-winded explanation. The gist of it is the ability to understand, adapt, and then evolve quickly in an ever-changing environment. Productivity and agility go hand-in-hand.

Here are six ways to make next month your most productive yet!

1. Reflect on your accomplishments and setbacks.
Whilst it’s rewarding to look back on your accomplishments, it can be difficult to address setbacks, but just think about how good it will feel overcoming them!

Setting goals and reflecting on them will help you progress and keeps your focus and energy levels where they need to be.

List your goals out, give them a month and if there are any setbacks, write out why they happened and how you could have avoided them. This will get you thinking and hopefully get your creative juices flowing for some fresh ideas. Remember, it’s important to reflect in order to grow!

2. Smarter meetings.

According to a survey by Dialpad on the state of today’s video conferencing and how much time people spend in meetings, 83.13% of workers spend a third of their week, or less, in meetings. Think of all that time lost!

Meetings can be useful, especially when they are concise, but when a meeting drags on, it can be hard to remember its purpose and the next steps.

Using a platform like Confluence keeps the whole company in sync, so there are fewer meetings and more healthy project collaboration. Confluence also contains a ‘Meeting Notes Template’ which allows you to document, assign and keep track of tasks off the back of meetings to ensure no time is wasted.

3. Move around!
Exercise is important.

Some businesses have gyms on-site and for a good reason. During exercise, the body releases endorphins which are known as ‘feel-good neurotransmitters’ that can help with stress management.

Exercise is also known to improve productivity by increasing blood flow to the brain, which makes it easier for us to focus. It also aids creative thinking for innovative solutions to challenges.

If your workplace doesn’t have a gym on-site, don’t worry, going for a walk is just as effective and can help you recharge your batteries and think more clearly.

4. Jira.
Jira is a project management tool that simplifies the organisation of work. It improves productivity through better visibility, collaboration and clarity over priorities which reduce unnecessary communication, allowing you to get on with tasks.

Jira helps teams plan, assign, track, report, and manage work.

5. Atlassian Marketplace.

The Atlassian Marketplace is a platform for Atlassian customers to discover, try, and buy apps to add functionality to their core products. Apps like Jira have thousands of add-ons available.

Some Marketplace apps aid productivity with extended functionality and features. Think of it as a place of extensions for your tools that will help your team stay agile and productive.
