Artificial Intelligence, friend or foe?
Artificial Intelligence can make or break your team.

A survey of more than 2,000 U.S. workers, revealed that AI is often referred to as the “6th man” in their team, freeing up time and head-space to tackle priorities, with 39% of workplaces already utilising it in some way or another.
Understandably, there have been mixed emotions around it, with 76% of workers believing that at least half of their job could be performed by a robot, algorithm, AI, device, or some other form of technology.
It’s easy to see why many view it as a threat to their job, rather than an opportunity to their team.
It's all about perspective
Ironically, 90% of workers don’t trust AI’s capabilities of adapting to change in the workplace, but what about their own openness to the introduction of AI?
If we were to look at Artificial Intelligence as a person, we’d need to play to its strengths and weaknesses in order for it to work in existing team dynamics. If utilised effectively, AI could enhance great teamwork, in the same way, it could jeopardise an already dysfunctional team, just like any person could.
In other words, your ability to master teamwork will reveal whether you’re able to make AI work for your business or not.
With 87% of people agreeing that AI will change their job by 2020, a good start to its inevitability in the workplace is to change one’s perspective on it.
It’s coming whether we like it or not, but there’s no need to view it as a threat. By looking at the functionality of our teams now, we can prepare for the change insufficient time.
