Atlassian News: Customised DevOps workflows in BitBucket

DevOps workflows in the Cloud made easier

Bitbucket News

Atlassian’s looking to make DevOps workflows in the Cloud easier, by providing integrations for tools in the CI/CD pipeline. This is in hope of saving developers the time of having to write integration scripts in themselves.

Atlassian has partnered with vendors such as Amazon Web Services, who’ve written pipes for developers to connect to tools and services, with environment variables.

These pipes work with the Bitbucket Cloud code management platform Bitbucket Pipelines, with the intent of providing automated CI/CD workflows.

In addition to this, developers can now write their own custom pipes for easy integration with a tool, providing a simpler repeatable process than that of scripts previously used.

Configured as Docker containers, Bitbucket Pipes are available for:

  • AWS S3 storage service
  • AWS Elastic Beanstalk
  • AWS Lambda.
  • Microsoft Azure Storage.
  • Datadog
  • Google App Engine
  • Google Cloud Storage
  • NPM
  • Opsgenie
  • PagerDuty
  • PyPL
  • SCP (secure copy protocol)
  • SFTP (secure file transfer protocol)
  • SonarCloud
  • Slack Notify

Bitbucket pipeline users can find pipes in the online .yml editor, however, new users will need to sign up, in order to create a repository for the enablement of Bitbucket pipelines.
