Clearvision renews its Cyber Essentials certification

We are pleased to announce that Clearvision’s Cyber Essentials certification has been renewed by accrediting body IASME!

Cyber Essentials

Following a successful assessment by accrediting body IASME, Clearvision has received its renewal of the Cyber Essentials certification.

Cyber Essentials

What is the Cyber Essentials certification?

The Cyber Essentials certification is a UK government-backed scheme that was built to protect businesses against the threat of cyberattacks. It achieves its purpose by expanding on the knowledge of internal experts within organisations.

Cyberattacks are varied, with the majority being considered ‘basic’. And while too many attempts are successful, most are carried out by ‘unskilled’ people. That being said, all are damaging to some capacity, and being vulnerable to a simple threat, puts you in danger of being targeted by more advanced and skilled attackers.
Such attackers prey on organisations that do not have security protocols in place, like the Cyber Essentials technical controls.

Being well-established in the world of software, our experts understand the importance of shielding from the threat of attacks and instilling confidence in our customers.

Of the certification renewal, Product Manager Jake Churcher said, “As a provider of software services, we understand the importance of staying up to date with the latest security protocols which are constantly evolving (as is the nature of technology). We always aim to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to the safety of our customers and our ISO 27001 certification proves this. The renewal of our Cyber Essentials certification is another step in the direction of achieving our main priority – customer safety.”

Becoming Cyber Essentials certified

To become Cyber Essentials certified, we first had to investigate our current security protocols and assess them against the five basic controls for better cybersecurity as per the Cyber Essentials scheme.

We were presented with a list of five accrediting bodies chosen by the NCSC, and had to verify our IT system for suitably with the chosen body. This involved supplying evidence in various forms for the required level of certification.
A questionnaire supplied by our certification body IASME was then completed and processed for auditing. Within a matter of days, Clearvision received the accreditation!
