What is agile?
The Manifesto for Agile Software Development is a good place to start if you’re brand new to agile. There are 12 principles to the manifesto, but they can be summed up nicely by the following statements of value:
- Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
- Working software over comprehensive documentation
- Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
- Responding to change over following a plan
Being agile is all about incorporating feedback in order to achieve continuous improvement. This leads to improved efficiency, quality, change management and visibility – it means projects are completed on time, to budget.
We’re big advocates of agile working, and Clearvision’s expert consultants have helped companies around the world go agile. More than the methods behind agile working, one hurdle organisations often encounter is the terminology itself. If your employees think Lord of the Rings instead of collection of multiple user stories when you bring up an Epic, you’ll encounter confusion.
With that in mind, we’ve put together this glossary to help you and your teams get to grips with common terminology. Any further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
