Unlock your potential with JIRA Portfolio training
Jira Portfolio

Our half day, four hour session is available as a classroom course or as a webinar.

Its purpose is to provide trainees with an in-depth look at the concepts behind Atlassian’s PPM plugin for JIRA.

It acts as an introduction to the tool and its uses and can easily be paired with our other JIRA training courses.

Modules include a cloud hosted instance of JIRA Portfolio to give users a practical working area to engage with. With these real world settings and examples, users will turn theory into practical knowledge as they learn how to use JIRA Portfolio effectively, along with gaining an understanding of key functionalities.

Through seven modules, the course covers everything you’ll need know:

-Introduction
-Scope
-Teams
-Releases
-Reporting
-Configuration and what ifs
-Wrap up and Q&A

In a recent survey, we discovered that over half of the companies we asked are using PPM software in areas such as finance, HR and facilities.

PPM is no longer just for development teams – the JIRA Portfolio plugin improves collaboration and efficiency across the whole business.

Accurate planning – Plan top-level business initiatives and break them down into lower level deliverables. See “above the epic” and make informed decisions.
Delivery forecasts and progress – Generate realistic delivery forecasts with automatic scheduling and view real-time, accurate progress data from JIRA.
Managing work and teams – Drive accurate and realistic capacity planning by defining teams and allocating work based on skills and availability.
Managing and dealing with change – Make fast prioritisation and decisions to instantly see the impact of plan changes. Easily react to ever-changing business needs and minimise loss of productivity.
Avoiding bottlenecks – Identify and avoid potential hold ups by accounting for dependencies across teams and projects. Avoid unrealistic resource loads by defining who can do which type of work.
A strategy for focus areas – Use themes to categorise backlog items to see relative resource allocation between themes – categorise by strategic focus areas, value streams, or investment categories.
