Upcoming Changes to Atlassian Cloud Products

Atlassian is making several changes to its pricing for Atlassian Cloud, effective October 12th 2021. Clearvision can help you prepare.

Changes to Atlassian Cloud pricing

Important dates for your attention:

  • 11th Oct 2021: Last date to request a quote from Clearvision (pre increase pricing).
  • 12th Oct 2021: New increased pricing live.
  • 8th Nov 2021: The last date to provide a purchase order from Clearvision (pre increase pricing).

Because Atlassian users have various combinations of products across deployments, plans, and user tiers, each customer will be impacted differently by these changes. Those impacted can take advantage of lower prices by renewing or making new purchases before the effective date.

The following products on new monthly and annual subscriptions will be impacted by the price increase:

  • Jira Software: Standard, Premium, Enterprise.
  • Jira Service Management: Premium, Enterprise.
  • Confluence: Standard, Premium, Enterprise.
  • Atlassian Access.

Existing customers on advantaged plans will be subject to increases over time.

The following (monthly and annual subscription plans) for existing customers will increase this year:

  • Jira Software: Standard and Premium.
  • Confluence: Standard.
  • Jira Service Management: Standard, Automation for Jira special premium pricing plan.

Jira Service Management (JSM)

Between April and October 2020, Atlassian placed existing Jira Service Management Standard customers with Automation for Jira on free Jira Service Management Premium trials. In October 2020, these customers were automatically upgraded to Jira Service Management Premium and placed on an advantaged pricing plan. Now, one year later, these customers will see a small increase to their advantaged plan as of October 2021.

JSM

Advantaged JSM Premium prices for Mindville Insight customers

Jira Service Management Free and Standard users trialling Mindville Insight – Asset Management Cloud app (before it was bundled into Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise) were put on a free Jira Service Management Premium trial for six months. With the first trials ending in October, Jira Service Management Standard users will be upgraded automatically to Jira Service Management Premium with advantaged pricing. Free Jira Service Management customers will not be automatically provisioned and will have to opt-in to Jira Service Management Premium.

Why the change?

Atlassian price increases don’t come without improvements to automation, insights, and machine-learning capabilities that enable customers to deliver innovation faster.

The advantaged plans offer excellent value compared to the market, and these moderate increases narrow the gap between what new and existing users pay for products.

New Jira Service Management features and functionality: Atlassian has invested heavily in new functionality to offer customers a modern, comprehensive enterprise-wide service management solution that adapts to their needs. Soon, users will have access to additional high-value capabilities, including:

300+ Form templates and a no-code/low-code advanced form builder, powered by ProForma.
Conversational ticketing with Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations, powered by Halp.
Granular permissions giving Admins centralised control, and teams the autonomy to quickly set up and operate as service delivery functions.

Expanded user tiers for Access – up to 40,000: As Atlassian scales products to meet the needs of its larger customers, additional user tiers for Atlassian Access (up to 40,000) will be included to match Jira Software and Confluence Cloud, making the purchasing and licensing model across its Cloud platform simpler and more consistent.
